WHAT IS EVS?

The European Voluntary Service (EVS) forms part of the European Program “Erasmus+” (www.erasmusplus.it).

Erasmus+ is open to all young people and it is a program that the European Union uses to mobility inside and outside EU borders, to promote non-formal education and intercultural dialogue, and to support all kind of youngsters regardless of their level of education, of their origins and their cultural background: Erasmus+ is a program for everybody!

YES BUT... WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

The European Voluntary Service is open to young people aged 17-30.

YES BUT .... WHAT IS IT FOR?

The European Voluntary Service is mainly a learning experience": thanks to non formal education the volunteers can improve their competences for the benefit of their personal and professional development.

YES BUT... WHAT DOES AN EVS VOLUNTEER DO?

The EVS activities may take place in different fields: culture, art, civil protection, environment, development cooperation, etc. ...

Each project can last from 1 to 12 months. Vicolocorto organizes pre-departure meetings with the volunteers, as well as final evaluation meeting at the end of the EVS.

ATTENTION PLEASE! An EVS is not:

  • Casual, unstructured or part-time volunteering
  • Internships in a NGO, etc...
  • Paid work
  • Tourist or leisure activities
  • Language course
  • A study or training period abroad
